Walsh Campaign Calls for Fair Debate

Fair Debate
The Walsh Campaign once again is having to fact check the Lisa Field campaign.

Despite Field’s claim that the Walsh campaign “declined” to debate–the truth is that Ed Walsh asked for the debate and his campaign team has been trying to work out the details for a fair and unbiased debate.

The Lisa Field campaign has been less than truthful in their dealings with Walsh, so there isn’t a lot of trust. For example, the Walsh campaign sent a message to the Field campaign asking Lisa Field to debate Ed Walsh. They didn’t respond, but then immediately issued a press release titled “Breaking News” claiming that THEY were asking for a debate.

The Walsh campaign has refused to engage in this embarrassing display of politicking. We are not here to play political games.

The Walsh campaign asked for a debate and Lisa Field responded with an offer by the Taunton Democratic City Committee (TDCC) to host the debate. The leadership of the TDCC includes members who are actively engaged in the Field campaign and others who have donated to her campaign.

Is it little wonder that Ed Walsh expressed his concerns about the neutrality and fairness of the Field campaign picking the host, date, time, location and logistics of the debate?

At no point did Ed Walsh decline to debate. Rather he asked for a FAIR debate.

Of course that didn’t stop Lisa Field from posting online that Ed Walsh declined to debate her.

The Walsh campaign continues to advocate for a fair and unbiased debate. Ed Walsh looks forward to every opportunity to discuss the issues of importance to the voters of Taunton and Easton.

We ask that you continue to pay attention to the game-playing engaged in by the Field campaign. Is that the sort of representation we need at the State House? We think not.

Vote for Ed Walsh at the State Primary on September 1st.
